The environment is something that people need to keep an eye on. As the world population increases the natural resources that the planet has decreases. That is why for more than seventy years the Colcom Foundation has been created. It is a group that was founded in southwestern Pennsylvania. It is dedicated to the prospect of helping with projects on many different levels in order to maintain a strategic balance between what people use on a daily basis and the environmental impact that the use has. It wants to make sure that things of beauty stay the way they are for people down the line.

The Colcom Foundation wants to be a good steward to the people as well as the environment. It can accomplish this goal in many different ways. People can visit the population media center and learn about ways to keep the population from growing too fast. If it does, then valuable resources will be gone and never come back. It is a group that is working with people and projects in order to make sure conservation is a priority. This foundation has joined with many other groups to make sure land is preserved for future generations to enjoy. There are many counties in Pennsylvania that have benefitted from the Colcom Foundation.

Colcom Foundation’s work has also facilitated proactive environmental advocacy and protection by groups, including the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, WeConservePA, Westmoreland Land Trust, Protect PT, and Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services.

This is just the start for this particular group. It will keep pressing the important issue of population control and environmental protection. This is the core element for the foundation. This is what Cordelia May started with, and people have to keep the ball rolling. Many people have been influenced to do something good for their area. Now it is up to the people to keep up the good work that was started more than seventy years earlier. That would make Cordelia May very proud.
