There have been many instances of college students’ free speech rights being silenced when their messaging contradicts the branding the college seeks to convey. Clearly this sort of censorship is in direct contradiction to basic principles of free speech, and the Alliance Defending Freedom has worked tirelessly to ensure students have the right to assemble, organize, and discuss their beliefs, regardless of whether they’re aligned with the college.

The rights of parents also seem to be constantly on the attack. In more and more school districts, it seems that the government wants full control over what subjects are taught to students, and when. Parents should have the final say over what their children learn, and when their children are mature enough to handle certain topics. The Alliance Defending Freedom has filed lawsuits on behalf of parents to stop the teaching of inappropriate material, whether they’re racially motivated indoctrination lessons or sexually graphic lessons.
