Kfir Gavrieli, CEO of Tieks, Discusses the Traits That Define a Hero

In the same manner that some individuals possess distinctive business insights, others naturally embody selflessness. For these individuals, extending a helping hand is an inherent aspect of their daily lives, as they share their time, resources, and wisdom. Thanks to technology, the potential for fostering countless avenues to contribute to the communities knows no bounds.

Heroism Acts in Today’s Life

Kfir Gavrieli emerged as a community hero during the coronavirus pandemic, garnering media attention for his company’s remarkable acts. Besides sewing numerous face masks to donate to essential healthcare workers, they encouraged their fans and followers to join this noble effort. This collective effort resulted in producing over a million face masks, contributing to healthcare workers in Los Angeles County and other regions.

Reflecting on this initiative, Kfir Gavrieli asserts that upon learning about the impending shortage of masks and the desperate need for healthcare workers, they felt responsible for redirecting their business and offering utmost support to those on the front lines.

Initially, Tieks mobilized their team to manufacture cloth face masks while procuring N95 masks through partnerships with local businesses. However, realizing the limitation of their in-house capacity, they launched Operation #SewTogether, an online social media campaign that invited customers and supporters to contribute by sewing and donating masks.

The Traits of a Hero

According to Kfir Gavrieli, heroes are not limited to extraordinary circumstances but can be found in everyday life, performing heroic acts in their daily routines. Amid the pandemic, countless individuals displayed tremendous courage and dedication in sustaining society during those challenging times.

Kfir Gavrieli acknowledges that heroes prioritize others over themselves, even when it proves inconvenient, challenging, or risky. Kfir particularly recognizes the unwavering commitment of medical workers, including nurses, doctors, janitors, EMTs, technicians, and receptionists, who were at the forefront of the battle against the coronavirus crisis.

Additionally, Gavrieli identifies first responders as heroes, as they willingly face emergencies and strive to save lives despite stressful and demanding situations. Viewing heroism as an action that serves a greater purpose, Gavrieli believes that anyone has the potential to be driven by heroism, as helping others brings greater fulfillment than serving oneself.

Selflessness, dedication, and the demonstration of tenacity and commitment to society and humanity define acts of heroism. Refer to this article for related information.
