Haynes has spent a lifetime helping leaders improve their leadership skills and work relationships with others. At the Council, Haynes evaluates the effectiveness of the top teams in companies and organizations. He helps executives to define their Vision and Mission, build a shared value system, develop specific strategies to support those values, improve communications throughout the organization, and increase trust, so people feel safe to take risks that drive high performance. Haynes works with CEOs and other high-level executives individually or as a group.

Doug Haynes heeded the call to help his fellow man in the late 1950s while teaching leadership and giving speeches to military personnel in Vietnam. He then helped executives at companies like Merck, General Electric, and IBM, as well as smaller firms with fewer resources but no less need for sound leadership principles. He has worked with people and teams at the helm of some of America’s finest institutions, such as General Electric, Merrill Lynch, Sears, and NationsBank.

Doug Haynes’ early life experiences also influenced his work on behalf of the business community and retirement security.Haynes has been deeply involved with the American Retirement Security System (formerly known as The Council for Retirement Security) since its inception in 1986. With an expanding knowledge of call center methods, Haynes promoted improved customer service and retention to customers both at Merck, Litton Industries and Sears.

Doug Haynes has dedicated his professional life to helping leaders improve their leadership skills. He has received many awards, the latest from the United States Association of CPAs, for his outstanding contributions to financial services.
