Randy Douthit Shares Judge Judy Lessons

Randy DouthitDouthit’s most famous, Judge Judy, is the show he directed and executive produced. Other shows include Hot Bench, which won the prestigious Golden Globe for Best TV Show or Movie, and Jenny Jones, which became one of the leading political talk shows in the US before it went off-air in 2014.

Douthit has been a producer and director for over two decades. He also directed several other popular shows, including the hit movie The Jackson Hole Stories, which he directed and produced.

He then became the director and executive producer of “The Jesse Jackson Show,” which was one of the first shows on TV to air live. As of 2017, Douthit is the sole survivor of the team that produced “The Jesse Jackson Show.” The show was again on television in 2021 when he was announced as the new show’s director.

Randy Douthit is one of the most popular TV broadcasters in the United States. He was born in Portland, Oregon, in 1949. After going the ranks at Portland’s KGW, he directed and produced “How Come” for Seattle Today before becoming head of production at Levine’s TV Distribution company.

He then became head of development at Levine’s new studio division Amazon Studios, developing programs like “Queen Bee” and “Fresh Prince of Bel Air. “Among Randy’s other shows, he is most proud as director of three-time Emmy Award-winning “Judge Judy” (CBS Television Distribution), “Judy Sheindlin” production company, and “Queen Bee” production company.

A number of his most memorable moments include his work on the popular show “The Good Place,” which won him his first Emmy nomination (for Best Director) and five-year contract (with snubs to “The Office” and “The Thick of It”). He also produced the two seasons of “The Crown,” which won him his second Emmy nomination and a five-year contract.
