Zaxby’s restaurant chain is doubling down on its rewards program, offering customers free meals as a sign-up bonus and making it easier than ever to redeem their points. These efforts have paid off in spades for the franchise, which now holds the coveted title of America’s fastest-growing restaurant app.

Zaxby’s launched a revamped version of its loyalty program named Zax Rewardz, including an attractive welcome offer of a free Big Zax Snak meal consisting of three Zax Sauce, Chicken Fingerz, and Texas Toast, along with small Coca-Cola Freestyle drink and a Crinkle Fries. The Chief Marketing Officer Patrick Schwing commented, “The response from our guests has exceeded expectations; it’s clear they appreciate the value of our offer. Since launching, we’ve more than doubled active users while achieving an amazing 4.7 rating in the app store.”

When earning rewards, customers can collect 10 points for every $1 spent, accumulating into a choice of free menu items and select dollars-off discounts. At the same time, delivery lovers will appreciate both Free Delivery Sundays, available until the end of May, and a week-long Free Delivery offer from April 24-30.

From being non-existent in last November’s top 10 QSR rankings, Zaxby’s was up to fourth place come October and is now America’s fastest-growing restaurant app. Dominoes and Dunkin swapped places while Subway moved two spots higher because their promotion offered customers a BOGO sandwich when they ordered in with the mobile app. Leading Apptopia estimates that 41% of its advertising impressions are derived from Facebook, 39% via TikTok videos, and 19% from YouTube Ads.

Panera Bread also contributed substantially to this success, breaking into the top chart for the first time since tracking began in May 2021 after offering free drinks for users who joined its Unlimited Sip Club.
