Randy Douthit
Randy Douthit grew up wanting to be an actor. He started acting professionally when he was 19. He had always loved performing and wanted to share his gift with others. His parents supported him through college and during his career.
By the time he was 9 years old, Randy Douthit was already producing local variety shows at nine. He sold 10-dollar tickets for the ‘Variety Show’ he put together in his Grandparents’ Barn in front of all his friends and neighbors.
Randy’s first job was at an NBC affiliate in Portland, where he stayed until age 25. At the same time, he got a bachelor’s degree in broadcast news at Portland State University and a master’s degree in communications management at Oregon Health & Science University.
At age 24, Randy became the Director of Development at KTVU, an NBC affiliate in Northern California. As part of the development team, he grew audience size through innovative marketing techniques. Later, he began creating a morning news show called Seattle Today. He managed to grow the show’s viewership tenfold, making him one of the youngest TV hosts in the country.
Meditation takes at least 10 minutes a day, if not longer, but the benefits are well worth it. You will never succeed if you are afraid to fail. When you face challenges, always try to do your best and learn from your failures. You won’t get anywhere if you give up when things go wrong. Instead, try to figure out why you failed and how you could avoid repeating those mistakes.
Randy has directed over 300 episodes of Judge Judy, including the series finale. He has produced multiple seasons of the hit show and directed numerous specials. Randy has won 3 Emmys over his career at CBS and 2 Emmy Awards at Amazon. As an executive producer for Judy Sheindlin‘s Queen Bee Productions, Randy oversees development for the upcoming season and all current projects.
