Robert Kraft
Robert Kraft is a sports mogul who owns the New England Patriots, the Major League Soccer Team New England Revolution, and Gillette Stadium. He is credited with turning both the Patriots and Revolution into competitive teams, having won a combined seven Super Bowls with them. His ownership in MLS has been more mixed, as he advanced MLS’s cause by recruiting international stars to play for his team but had also found himself mired in controversy as a result of his ties to international soccer.
Robert Kraft is one of America’s most successful sports owners behind Jerry Jones and George Steinbrenner. As of 2017, he was worth $5.2 billion, placing him in the top 300 richest Americans and within the top 100 richest Americans.
Married to Myra Kraft (née Feiffer), Robert is one of five children born to a Jewish family from Janesville, Wisconsin. His family later moved to Massachusetts, where he attended a Catholic high school for high school in Newton for a year before finishing at Milton Academy. He followed his brother Andrew’s footsteps into the business world after being inspired by his brother’s career as a stockbroker and working alongside him as an investment banker before pursuing his own professional future in sports.
Kraft was married to Myra Kraft (née Feiffer) for over 50 years. They were married on June 28, 1959 and together have three children: Erin Kraft and Sean Kelly-Kraft, both of whom are married to professional athletes, and Anne McCarthy and Robert Rona Cohn. After Kraft’s retirement from the NFL, he and his wife moved back to Connecticut where they reside in the town of Greenwich. Visit this page for additional information.
Robert Kraft is currently involved in five different businesses besides owning the New England Patriots: He heads both athletic apparel companies that bear his name – one based in New England, the other headquartered in California – as well as many other ventures such as owning a diversity consulting company called Inspire Sports Solutions.
